This course includes an introduction to the legal and judicial system in the Kingdom that briefly identify the most important elements of this system. In this course, we give a brief introduction to the study of laws in general in terms of defining the concept of law, the concept and characteristics of legal rule and distinguishing it from other rules such as the rules of religion, customs and courtesies. Further, this course gives an overview of the theories of law and right, explains the formation and competencies of various courts in the Kingdom, whether ordinary or administrative courts. In addition, this course gives an overview of the Saudi Law of Criminal Procedure, controls of the most important criminal procedures under the Saudi law, such as cases of flagrante delicto, arrest, search and detention. Moreover, we will discuss the most prominent provisions of the Saudi Basic Law of Governance issued in 1412AH.

• Module 5: Explanation of the Kingdom’s Basic Law of Governance
