Program

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia regulates the law profession by the incorporation of the conditions and provisions regulating the practicing of the law profession in the Code Law Practice, issued by Royal Decree M/38 dated 28.07.1422AH, and its subsequent amendments and Implementing Regulations, issued by the Minister of Justice Resolution 4649 dated 08.06.1423AH.

In this course, we will address the latest version of this code, discussing the definition, bases and practicing conditions of the law profession in the Kingdom, as well as the provisions applying to licensing foreign law offices in the Kingdom. Moreover, we will discuss the various duties and rights of lawyers under the code. Finally, we will address the procedures established by the Code of Law Practice and its Implementing Regulations to discipline lawyers, formation and competences of disciplinary committees, procedures and guarantees provided to lawyers during the disciplinary process, as well as the procedures to object to and implications of disciplinary decisions.
